Hello! This is a great question – lots of animals are becoming extinct because they don’t have anywhere to live anymore. Humans are cutting down forests and turning them into farms and cities, so the wild animals that used to live in the forest have nowhere to go.

There are only about 3,000 tigers left living in the wild – we think there used to be about 30 times this many! A major problem for tigers is that humans have cut down a lot of the forests they used to live in, so they end up getting stuck in tiny little patches of forest where they can’t meet any other tigers. In India for example, wildlife charities are trying to help by repairing gaps between the patches of forest so that tigers can roam around freely and meet each other.

I think the best thing we can do for all animals is to try to protect their habitats so that they have somewhere to live for many years to come.
