I love that science is factual and based on results. For example, a scientist carries out experiments and then uses the results as evidence to prove or disprove a theory.
I like that there’s usually an answer, even if we can’t understand it yet. Our experiments tell us something, but even if they go wrong we need to work out why and how to make them better so there’s always a puzzle to solve. I also like that the work I do makes a difference to the most important problem we have at the moment, it’s nice to feel like you’re making a difference!
For me, it’s about satisfying my curiosity. Anything I don’t understand, I am driven to try and understand. Also, it feels good to have a passive, everyday, deeper (but far from complete!) understanding of the world around me.
For me it’s the payout of a challenge, the solution to the mystery of a problem- the satifaction of watching all the parts fall into place, the whole complex messy mishmash colapse, the veil falling to reveal one bright nugget of beautiful crystalline truth, then seeing the rest of creation reflected in it in a new and clearer light.

It is great discovering things which weren’t known before. Environmental research helps us create a more sustainable planet

There is science in everything we do! From walking through the forest and seeing the leaves change colour to cooking in our kitchens

That fact that everything I do in everyday of my life has a scientific meaning to it and creativity aspect of science.
