I have been in research for a long time (MSc, PhD, Postdoc, and now a Lecturer), but before that I made money as a bartender and from playing music in bands while I was a student.

Before being a scientist I worked in a garage, and before that I was a seasonal farm labourer (glamorous stuff, clearly).

While I was doing my degree, I had a summer job at an ice-cream cafe! They made all their own ice-cream from the milk from the cows on their farm. Of course, I had to test every flavour to make sure they we’re good enough for the customers! My favourite was their tiramisu ice-cream with biscoff being a close second

I have always been a scientist however I did have a few different part time jobs when I was at college and during the summer when I was at university. I have worked in a pet shop, on a market stall and in a factory making light fittings.
