      It is a defense mechanism to keep the eye moist and cover it with liquid containing antibacterials to prevent infections.

      tp wash antibacterial fluid across our eye…really..tears kills bacteria. Flemming who discovered penicllin also looked at tears and used to pay his studnets to cry into beakers for him

      We blink to keep our eyes moist and damp, otherwise they dry out and get really uncomfortable. It also helps to flush out and kill any rubbish that gets in there, like dirt or bugs.

      Because our eyes need to be wet at all times. the fluid contains antibacterial ingredients and helps to keep bugs out of our eyes.
