      Hi kyle,

It is very difficult to single out the most important fact in science. In my opinion there is no single fact that stands out. Everything is inter-related in the living and physical world and all discoveries and facts are equally important in different contexts.
Learning to be open minded and avoid being dogmatic is a real advantage in science. Always expect the unexpected and make sure you have an eye for detail.
