      Hi,

Climbing to the summit of Mount. Olympus in Greece. it was hard but an amazing experience. It is 3018 meters high. ot that high by comparison to other mountians but it is an inspiring place to climb particularly because of its ancient connection to the Olympian Gods.

The most rewarding thing I do, or have ever done, is help my daughter do something for the very first time.
      Soppy, but true. 🙂

Most rewarding thing I have done non-scientifically is have children- so much fun and give you a reason to get up every morning.

The most rewarding thing I have done scientifically is discover a protein that is important in stopping the imune system attacking the intestine and causing inflammatory bowel disease. No one had ever discovered this before us, and it is so rewarding that such a discovery may one day help people with the disease, and that people have come up to me from all over the world to say how cool they think our work is!

It sounds sappy but more than any teaching or research, seeing our son grow and change and helping him along the way has been the most rewarding thing i have ever been part of..

I won a competition with Wiggle.co.uk and got £500. I used this money to build a bike shop for the captain of the Gambian cycling team so he could makea living. he still has this now and if you want to see it and an article on it try going to wiggle website and find it in the blogs although this was about two years ago now.
