of course I do. I love animals too much not to care. In fact I have a dog (his name is Leo) who is 15 months old and love him to bits. Animal testing is strictly regulated by many safety regulations and it is not easy to do. The majority of science does not involve animal testing. Only a small amount of science does and this happens only as a last resort when there is no other alternative and when we think we can discover things that will benefit many sick humans that need our help desperately.
🙂
Yes I do and would like to see it phased out when reliable alternatives have been developed. Until then I am happy for it to continue for medicines, it’s a legal requirement, but under no circumstances can it be justified for testing cosmetics.
Yes, very much so. Everything possible should be done to minimise the use of animals, and they should only be used when there is no viable alternative. There are some situations when this definitely is the case- e.g. testing of new medicines before giving to humans, and trying to answer fundemental biological questions about how biology works in order to try and determine potential novel drug targets. But all scientists should try and use any method other than animals if there is any alternative.
Yes I do. I’d like it kept to a miniumum ,, carried out with respect for the animal , and only if it was going to save human lives.
Cosmetics testing on animals should not occur in my opinion
