Probably a bit. There are always little things in life that you think you can improve. However, for the most part I’m content with what I do and where and how I live.

I’m certainly happy being a scientist and I certainly enjoy all the adventures I get to have.

I would move back to Canada because the quality of life is good and I loved the country. The science happens to be pretty good as well. I’d miss somethings about the UK but not much.

Oh my God, my house is SUCH a mess. I am having a couple of weeks off next month to de-clutter and re-paint; my piano would get played by me, not by the toddler with grubby hands that I allow to live in my house; the same toddler would not wake up twice a night and would go to bed before 9:30pm and without a fuss so I could have some me time (possibly on the piano); I would live really close to my family rather than thousands and thousands of miles away; I would have more time to spend with the dog; my husband wouldn’t work stupid hours and wouldn’t commute 150 miles a day; I would have a bathroom installed upstairs in my nice but very old Victorian house…..shall I go on or is that enough?

No I think I’m really lucky and I love my life right now.

My research is going really well and I really enjoy doing it. I’m getting really close to publishing my work which is how scientists work gets recognised by the whole world. I’m really excited about that! And in 2 weeks I’m getting to go to Italy and present my work to all the people in europe who work in my field which i’m also excited/nervous about!

My home life is awesome! I live in a tiny house with a nice big garden and I have a lovely puppy called Banjo, a guinea pig called Boris and 4 chickens. I’ve started growing vegetables in the garden and it’s really nice just to come home from work and sit in the garden and have an ice lolly while Banjo does laps! I help out at the Brownies on a Thursday night, my weekends are usually spent in the garden or fixing the house (or my bike!), and I manage to squeeze in a lot of time with my friends too.

I’m really happy and very thankful. Sometimes it can be hard to fit everything in, but I manage somehow! Like last night, I got home from work at 6pm, ate something, went to Brownies at 6.15pm. Got home at 8.15pm to get Banjo and then we walked to the pub to neet some friends and play darts. I got home at 11.30pm, bed at 12 – then I got up at 6am, walked Banjo and then arrived at work at 7.45am! I sleep very soundly!! 🙂
