Anyway, I certainly hope so. What I am interested in is in managing tropical forests better, so that they can continue to store and absorb (sequester) carbon, and also continue to provide habitat for lots of interesting wildlife. This would mean protecting the environment in tropical countries in the short term, and protecting the global environment over the longer term by reducing the impact of climate change.
I should also point out that when I talk about wildlife, this really also should include all the species that make up a tropical forest ecosystem, which includes of course things like the trees and plants that make up the actual structure of the forest, and the fungi which process and re-cycle all the nutrients in the ecosystem.
