• Question: Do you think that there is already a cure for cancer? A cure that isnt being given to patients because it will destroy the medical industry?

Ok, I think you have made a really good point and this is a really important argument that people in medicine are having at the moment.

My opinion is that there probably isn’t some magic miracle drug out there that can cure cancer. However, the race is on. Drug companies are falling over themselves to try and make new and better drugs, they are in constant competition because whoever makes the best drug, gets the most money. I think it is pretty awful that they are driven my money rather than helping people, but it’s true, there is a lot of money in cancer medicine.

Because of this, these companies keep a lot of secrets from each other because they don’t want somebody else to know what they know and then find a cure before them.

But what do you think would happen if everyone all worked together? Don’t you think that we would be so much closer to a cure? I do. This is why I work for Cancer Research UK. It’s a charity and everyone helps each other and shares their knowledge. I think that is how it should be for all cancer researchers.
