I don’t at the moment, but I do have assistants on fieldwork who help carry things and do the research. In Indonesia I have a scientific counterpart from the Indonesian academy of Sciences.He is a botanist, so I get to learn a lot from him. It is exciting working with people who do something quite different from yourself because you can learn so much, and have some great, really interesting, conversations! I think a lot of scientists have real passion for their work, which makes them a wonderful group of people to mix with.

Hi Alex. I’m very lucky that I have a brilliant post-doctoral researcher who works for me. I also have four full-time PhD students at the moment. Between them they do most of the robotics experiments in my lab – although every few weeks I try and go in, roll up my sleeves, and do experiments myself!
