      That’s a good question!

One of the things I really like about science is that I get to do such a wide variety of different things. I used to want to be a teacher but I realised that I would have to do the same thing every day and that I would never learn anything new.

Science is always changing and new discoveries are being made every day. It’s a really exciting subject. And just think how science and technology has advanced in the past 100 years! Do think if you told somebody from the 1800’s that we drove cars, watched tv and could communicate with each other across the whole world, sharing information over the web, cooking food with microwaves and curing diseases, that they would have believed it??!

Personally, my job has a lot of variety. The great thing about research is that you take control of it youreslf and you have complete freedom over what you choose to do and study. No two days are ever the same. And even when you are repeating experiments you have already done, you are constantly trying to find ways to make them fast and more effective and efficient!
