• Question: By your lab coat do you mean one of those long white coats? the really cool ones that makes you look really smart and superficial? :)

      Yeah I have to wear a long white coat. It’s actually a safety thing cos some of the chemicals I use are really harmful and they could burn through your skin or melt your clothes. Also they are handy cos they have big pockets for keeping spatulas, tongs and pens and stuff in!

      One of my friends wasn’t wearing her lab coat one day and she split trifluoroacetic acid all down her leg so she had to take her jeans off in the middle of the lab and jump in the emergency shower! Luckily she didn’t burn her leg but it did bleach her jeans!!

      Another one of my friends melted her shoes… She dropped a bottle of dimethyl formaldehyde on the floor and it smashed and she tried to run away from it but it got on her shoes and they melted to the floor! her feet were fine, the chemical just reacted with her rubber soles (it was pretty funny!!)
