      Hi Kiwi 0.o
Thank you for your question. It is quite difficult to answer, but whilst doing my degree in Chemistry I remember getting my first taste of radiation chemistry whilst doing my thesis. I was looking at how radiation affects sulphur-sulphur bonds in specific materials. I remember making little round discs and putting electrodes on them and measuring the resistance. The whole thing was then sent to be irradiated at different doses and I measured the resistance of each when it came back. I was really surprised that there was a relationship between the amount of radiation and the resistance – it wasn’t a linear relationship but it was pretty interesting and I won a prize for it. This was the first time I had really designed my own project so it sticks in my mind quite a bit.
