      Hi Chloe_Meg
Cells function to create specific proteins. These proteins are ultimately made by ribosomes. Mitochondria create the energy in the form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) required to power the cell for the processes it needs to do, like creating proteins. So the mitochondria provide the energy that the ribosomes need to create whichever protein the mRNA codes for.
