The SM reaction is simply a synthetic tool that allows synthetic chemists to join aromatic groups together… it is as useful as the solution to problem it helps with.
You might have equally well asked “do I think a screwdriver is useful…” – it rather depends on what its used for!

I can answer this very easily as the only thing I know about Suzuki coupling reactions is that they are used in the synthesis of olefins, styrenes and biphenyls. These are used by the human race and are therefore I am sure ‘useful’. I think my fellow research scientists will be able to help you more…..not my field I am afraid.
