I look up to my supervisor, he is really cool and a really good scientist. I also look up to my parents and fiancee’s parents as they have done really well in life despite some big challenges.

I look up to my supervisors as well. I also look up to some of my peers: they are really really smart. But I mostly look up to people that can keep a smile on their face regardless of the circumstances. I don’t care what they do, but that type of strength is just amazing.

I have quite a few colleagues I look up to who have done lots of great science and are great to work with. They help me plan my own experiments and my career overall. It’s inspiring to see others make great progress in science!

I work with a lot of really excellent scientists, whom I admire. I also admire my mum (but she doesn´t know so don´t tell her!)-she is a scientist who started out at a time when it was really difficult to be a female scientist. She wasn´t even allowed (only boys were) to take the science classes in school that would allow her to go to Uni….but she found a way. She also worked every summer to pay for Uni as her family could not afford it…..she is amazing!
