Question: What is it like working in Cambridge University? Is it really the best university in the UK?

To be honest its pretty hard to compare between Universities as they’re all good at different things. It often comes top of ranking lists which are based on a range of things like how good the research is, how satisfied the students are etc etc. It isn’t best for everything, though. Having a strong reputation helps us to get funding to do more science, which is the main thing. Success also breeds success – we find it easier to attract top people because we’ve got a good name. Its a great place because there are a large number of experts that you can work with. It isn’t at all like its made out in the papers, though!
