Hi Sia 🙂 You can imagine a cell as a mass of water which contains lots of little components (proteins, DNA, organelles…). The cell membrane covers all these contents and holds them together. It also separates them from what surrounds it. You can think about it as the “skin” of the cell. Hope this helps!
