• Question: What do you stain the cells with? other chemicals?

      Good question!
      In the picture I have on my profile, I stained the cells red with a chemical that is red. The blue is the nucleus, which is stained with a chemical that binds to DNA and fluoresces blue! The bacteria are stained with another chemical which binds to a protein on their surface and fluoresces green.

      So basically yes, other chemicals!
