Question: how many cells have you looked at?

Ooo good question! Using the electron microscope, probably 100 ish? This includes lots of different kinds of cell including neuronal cells in the brain and macrophage cells which are immune cells in the body (that help stop us getting poorly).

Using light microscopes, probably thousands more!

p.s. my favourite bit of science in school was the practicals too. Although I once got detention for accidently setting fire to someones tie using a bunsen burner in chemistry….
