No i think the opposite. I think with the developments in research, detection and treatments will only get better, so more people will survive a cancer diagnosis.
As it stands at the moment, more and more people will end up getting cancer but as Andrea said, we will be making huge progress with early detection and new treatments that more people will survive the disease.
Maybe, age is the biggest risk for cancer. As we get better at making people live longer there chances of getting cancer increase. As Andrea says though I don;t think this is something to worry about as we’re also getting better at detecting and treating cancer!
As the other have said, cancer rates are probably going to increase because globally people are living linger and cancer affects many more older people.
However, the more we understand cancer the greater we can improve the prevention of cancer. The recent banning of smoking in public places will greatly reduce the number of lung cancer from passive smoke. Lots of scientific evidence was needed in order to pass this law.
On the whole I think things will be better in the future than they are now.
