Because the chemicals that are in them absorb some of the colours that are in the light and reflect others, so that to our eyes they look green.

Trees (and all green plants) are get their colour from a green pigment called chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is essential for a process called photosynthesis, which allows plants to convert energy from sunlight into energy they can use.
