The study of cancer is called ‘oncology’, which comes from the Greek ‘oncos’ (meaning mass, or tumour) and ‘-ology’ (meaning the study of something).

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, Oncology is the branch of medicine that deals with the study and treatment of tumours – so I guess that would be the word that you could use. I prefer to use simple words though so I would just say that I study cancer or that I do cancer research.

Now that’s an interesting question… I don’t think there is a word for the study of cancer! The branch of medicine concerned with cancer is oncology, I think that’s the closest I can get to answering your question!
