• Question: do you think that science GCSE should be compulsary?

      Yes. I do. Science is really important for so many things that I think that everyone should have a basic knowledge of how science works. I remember some science lessons at school were quite boring though, so I hope they’ve made it more interesting now.

      Yes. The world is getting more and more influened by technology and people need to be scientifically literate in order to make informed decisions.

      Wow – that’s a great question! I think it that it’s a possibility – because an understanding of the nature of science, and its fundamental principles is so important in so many ways.

      For instance, an understanding of science could help reduce the level of mistrust people have about science (and trust in unproved, useless and potentially dangerous ‘alternative therapies’ and pseudo-science). The skills that scientific thinking teaches have applications in all our lives.

      Yes, I do. I think it’s very important for everyone to have at least some basic knowledge of science. Also, GCSE science teaches you how to think critically about things and how to solve problems, which are very important skills for everyone to have.
