If I am honest, it took me a while to realise that I wanted to become a science. I always had an interest in medicine but I also had a strong interest in drama so I was considering becoming an actress. When it came to selecting my a-levels my subject choices were still quite broad (I did drama, geography, Polish, chemistry and biology), this meant I wasn’t narrowed down to a single subject when considering University. During my second year of a levels, I attended a conference for a-level students all about medicine and science and this was what solidified that science was an area I wanted to go into. This is what made me choose biomedical science at university, the degree also a subject that covered a wide range of scientific subjects so I could decide which area of science I wanted to specialise in!
