Chemotherapy is one of the most commonly used cancer treatments. There are different types of chemotherapy drugs but what they do is kill quickly-dividing cells in their own way. Because cancer cells develop the ability to divide uncontrollably, that’s why they get killed when someone gets chemotherapy! However, that is also one of the reasons why patients getting chemotherapy can end up losing their hair and nails – because those cells also grow very quickly.
