I am not sure if I understand your question, so please ask again if you can. Is this about chemotherapy? If so, then that is usually cytotoxic chemical (meaning that it kills cells) – it usually targets the processes that cancer cells are specifically dependent on such as proliferation (division) which makes them more vulnerable. The problem with chemotherapy is that it is still affecting normal cells in our body and that is why cancer patients that receive chemotherapy are feeling quite poorly from the therapy itself, not just from cancer. In that case it is about picking less of two evils unfortunately.
