I’d like to think so! I’m a PhD student which means I’m still at the very start of my scientific career. I’ve worked in cancer research in some way or another for around 4 years now and my own understanding of cancer and biology in general has grown massively in that time! I hope to keep learning which will mean I can keep contributing to the research we do 🙂

Yes, in the time I have been a researcher, I have contributed to the development of new anticancer drugs and building an understanding around how they work when they are injected in the body. I also worked on a project which will be tested in humans in a clinical trial in the next year or 2. Impact doesn’t have to look big though. Sometimes even contributing to understanding fundamentals of cancer, can in the long term make a huge difference to new discoveries.
