Probably juggling the different aspects of my job and maintaining my skills in the different areas. Sometimes it can be tiring to do clinical work and the next day go back to the lab and do detailed science. I think the solution is probably to make sure I keep a good work life balance, and be kind to myself in what can be achieved in any one working day!
There are various challenges that researchers like myself face. This can range from ones that concern day to day to ones that relate to a longer timeframe. For example, some experiments did not go as planned, so I had to think ‘why’ they did not work and ‘how’ I can tackle these problems. Ultimately, one of the wider challenges I will face in my work is to answer how I can effectively translate what I find in my research to bring benefits to patients and their family.
I believe thinking about ‘why’ and ‘how’ for various small to bigger challenges you face, and problem solving, will help to achieve your goals.
