Pharmacology means the study of drugs and neuro means things to do with the nervous system. Neuropharmacology is the study of the effect of drugs on the nervous system.

When I studied it at University we looked at diseases such as Parkinson’s, Schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s and childhood lysosomal storage disorders and which drugs can be used to treat them. We also talked a bit about how drugs such as cannabis affect the brain. It also covers signalling within the brain.

Hope that this answers your question 🙂
