Would it not some how be possible to collect some of our own atmosphere and take it to another planet like some kind of atmospheric bomb that could be deployed steadily over time to give a planet an atmosphere? And if that is possible would it not just be simpler to have small colonies that would live in a similar way to the space station but that are entrenched on the moon or any other planet which could carry out research on the planet incase there is anything else to find on the planet until it is terraformed (e.g. Looking underground)? I’ve heard that it would take to long for anyone to have reached mars without becoming insanely old or dead, in which case could we not just experiment with cryogenics to help us reach it like in planet of the apes?
