      Hehe, good question.

      I am not a marine biologist (even though I work with fish), so I have had to look this one up. The smallest fish is called Paedocypris progenetica (yes, very scientific name) and it is only 7.9 mm long (look at your ruler and see how small it is!). It was discovered not very long ago in swamps in Sumatra (an Indonesian island in Asia) and apart from having a very small size it is also extraordinary because it lives in very acidic water. In fact the water that it lives in is 100 times more acidic than rain water!

      It stole the title from the Indo Pacific goby, which used to be the smallest fish at 8 mm long, which is small, but just not small enough 🙂
