  Absolutely. Richard Feynman is a hero because he was a great scientist (he won a Nobel prize for Physics) who was able to do lots of different things (he could pick locks and worked out why the Space Shuttle exploded). There are many figures from history who are also great role models: Newton, Einstein, Euler, Pythagoras, Kepler, Galileo, the list goes on and on. In modern times, Stephen Hawking is someone I admire both for his science and his determination to not let his personal situation get in the way.
