Sorry for taking a long time to answer your question. This is outside of my area and therefore, I had to do some research to find an answer. According to the studies that I found, farmers were found to have some particular personality traits that were thought to be adaptations to their work:
– they have to be able to persevere, i.e. continue working even when there is no immediate pay-off
– be able to manage themselves and make their own decision without much help from other people
– deal with challenges by themselves without much support
– be comfortable working alone or in a small group of people
