One of my favourite things about working as a researcher and lecturer at university is how varied it is. I have to give talks, analyse data, make nice figures and graphs, program experiments, think about new studies, interact with participants, work with other researchers and my own students, sometimes I may be interviewed on the radio, or even on TV! Another important thing is that although we work quite hard, we have a lot of flexibility and freedom with our time, so we can organise ourselves how we want, and we can be quite independent.

Flexibility in terms of what time I come and go. It’s also possible to work from home at times. I don’t do that, but some others do.

I can wear my normal clothes, so I don’t have to wear a business suit.

33 days of annual leave. I find it hard to use so many days of annual leave (not that I’m complaining haha)

It would be nice if they offered massages at lunch time 🙂
