      A lot of learning occurs by connecting it with existing knowledge. For example, if you encounter a donkey for the first time, you could use your existing knowledge of a horse and add that the donkey is a bit smaller and more sturdy.
      The current thinking is that the brain stores this information by strengthening connections between brain cells.
