• Question: how do our brains develop from when we are babies so we can learn new things?

      There are lots of things happening in the brain between birth and childhood. Much of learning has to do with how brain cells are connected. When we are born, there is a huge number of connections, but only some of them are useful. In the first years of life, the connections that are not used are removed, which makes the brain more efficient. Later, the connections that are most important are for something that we are learning are strengthened.
