Hi @lilsimmo and @ailhep123
Are we talking academic or personal here?
Academic – getting the funding to do my PhD is my proudest moment to date, although if I win ‘I’m a Scientist’ that will then be my greatest achievement! 🙂
Personally, running Bristol 10K last year with my sister and raising over £1000 for Cystic Fibrosis Trust is something I’m really proud of. I have 2 nieces who have the disease, so I always fundraise for that charity. This September I’m running a half marathon (13 miles!) to raise more money, so wish me luck 🙂
In science, I’d like to think it was yet to come! But maybe the thing I’m most proud of so far is the one or two times when I’ve convinced someone who didn’t know about it that linguistics was a worthwhile and interesting thing for them to study. It’s happened a couple of times, in introductory classes.
@suzigage hi sorry for the late reply but i think its good that your legs hurt because that means that you have trained really hard and used muscles you havent used before which is good for the marathon!!!! so carry on training hard i beleive in you!! 🙂

Thanks! I did a training run yesterday. I only ran for 45 minutes, but I’d already played badminton for 45 minutes, so I think that’s pretty good 🙂
My legs hurt a bit today 🙂
