      Hi @tiny
I think it would be impossible not to let personal experiences affect your decisions. But I can’t think of specific things that have led me to the path I’m on now.

My Mum did an experiment for me as I was testing people who were around her age, and I needed some people to be ‘controls’, who are people who are similar to the interesting population you’re testing, but don’t have the condition you’re interested in. In this case I was testing people who’d spoken Zulu (a language from South Africa) when they were children, but couldn’t speak it any more. My Mum has never spoken Zulu, so she was my control.

She had to do a really difficult computer task once a day for a month, which involved listening to sounds and working out if they were the same or different. She has said she’ll never do one of my experiment again!!!!!!

      🙂
