Hiya, that is a difficult one. There are so many who I have met on my travels, but I am going to give the main credit to someone who inspired me at an early point in my career. Professor Beggs is a Geneticist who was course organiser for my degree course at the University of Edinburgh. I was always impressed by her work. Professor Beggs has won a lot of awards for her work and is also a Fellow of the Royal Society (which is a big pretty big deal). I remember talking to her about careers in science and seeing how successful she had been workwise as well as having a family and. That is something that I really admired (and still do) and it inspired me that girls can make it in science!

Hi Spacemonkey007
I can’t say I grew up thinking wow that scientist is amazing I want to be like them. There have been a number of really great people that I have been lucky enough to work with who are amazing scientists and in the area of nutrition and the brain are very influential. As names of these people won’t mean much to you a scientist I admire who you might have heard of is Sir Alexander Fleming. I think his work is particularly amazing because the discovery is still used widely today and it was discovered completely by accident. I like this because it reminds us that something very special could be discovered at any time.
Hey, Benjamin Franklin who helped discover how to manipulate and use electricity and Thomas Edison who discovered the light bulb. I think these two scientists are amazing! Where would we be without electricity?
