• Question: do you think science is easy?

      Hey Lucie,
      Sorry I have a rubbish answer for this: yes and no! Do you like science? If people like what they do it tends to be easier for them than someone who hates what they are doing. Luckily I am a geek to the core and love science so it comes easily. However work is hard, tiring and challenging. Sometimes experiments don’t work the way you expect and you have to figure out why, is it something you have do or is what you thought should happen wrong. Sometimes you have to do the same thing over and over and over for example I take pictures of cells in the brain and I can take hundreds of pictures before I can find a pattern or meaning. The good thing is you are never alone as other people are usually struggling with their work too, it is always interesting and worth it in the end.

      Maybe not easy, but fun! 😉
      I think if it was easy I’d get bored quickly-you need to be doing something that makes you think or you lose interest. I like a challenge.

      Good question! I think science can be both very easy and very hard. I guess it really depends on your motivation, on your desire to succeed, and also on a bit of luck! It’s really important to have a good mentor to guide you especially at the beginning when you are starting out.
