      Great question Leah

      I did my PhD in the area of tooth regeneration – working out if and why teeth can repair themselves and I found out that the endpoint of this research would be brand new smart dental materials to improve dentistry and more importantly make it better for the patient. Bone is also a tissue that repairs effectively and loss of bone through cancer, inflammation, disease or trauma can really affect a persons quality of life so any new treatments that can improve or speed up bone healing would be of great benefit to the patient. That’s why I stayed in the area and work in it now.
