No I don’t think the world will end in 2012. The people that do take the Mayan prophecies and Nostradamus writings literally. You can always read anything you want into those, but I think we’ll still be here in 2013
I don’t think the world is going to end in 2012, or any time in the forseeable future.
I think that things can change and affect our lifestyles though. In the long term there is the threat that global warming could cause flooding in low lying areas near the coasts and rivers. Another problem is likely to be the increasing demand for oil, causing petrol, diesel, gas and electricity to get very expensive and we might even face shortages eventually.
No, it won’t end in 2012 – keep studying! There are always group saying that the world will end (it seems to be ending every few years). Some predictions arise from obscure calendars, others from readings of religious texts (cabalistic reading of the Torah is a wonderful source of dates for the end of the world), others from numerology or astrology or new religious prophets or leaders. So, expect to hear of more such predictions every few years, and know that this has always happened, and will continue to happen, without the world ending.
