Processed foods, like you might typical associate with microwave meals or take away foods will typically have high amounts of fats, high salt content and high sugar content, not to mention a lot of artificial additives and flavours. Same applies to fizzy drinks with lots of calories and sugar. Eating these types of food can be linked with obesity. The other major issue with obesity is most people that typically eat this kind of food also have very low levels of physical activity. So they will drive or get the bus instead of walking, sit in front of the television/desk at work for long periods of the day and not do any regular sports/exercise. Bad diet is one thing, but when you factor in inactivity then it really is a health risk…. I think everyone can afford to eat ‘bad’ foods from time to time, but it can’t be the main points of a regular diet. On top of this physical activity is the key. All of the systems in our body want to be active and respond to exercise which is why its such a fantastic way to keep healthy and prevent obesity…

I think that foods that are high in both fat and sugar are the ones to watch as we are almost programmed to like them, these include things like doughnuts. The other one is sugary drinks as again these do not affect our appetite.
