Typically about 50-80 times a minute, quicker in young children and slower in trained athletes

The average resting heart rate is normally around 70 beats per minute but this can vary depending on a lot of things like age, fitness etc. To estimate your maximal heart rate you can do a simple sum (220 minus your age), this gives you a rough idea of the number of beats per minute your heart could do if it was under maximal stress, like running as fast as you can for as long as you can…

Can’t add much more than what the boys have said. My resting heart rate is really low as I do a lot of sports. Its around 43 bpm when I’m fully rested!
