      That depends…

      I consider nuts as vegetables, and some nuts can be quite fatty, so if you eat a lot of nuts and not the rest of the vegetables it is still possible to become fat. And some people like salted nuts… which is not ideal.

      I personally don’t agree with monotonous diet (veggie only, fruit only) because it may expose dieters to the lack of a particular micro-nutrient. But no matter what scientist says, there will be some celebs that come up with unique diet method and influence young people to follow their way of dieting. Grrr! I think having a variety of food is good as long as it is balanced, and combined with sufficient exercise and good sleep.
