Drugs can cause confusion and hallucinations if they are ‘phsycho-active’.
This is because they cause the nerves in your body that are responsible for your sight, hearing, balance and other senses to get confused.
The drugs send signals to your nerves that your body has not picked up from the outside world. So for example, they can act on your visual nerves and send signals which causes you to ‘see’ something that isn’t there.
