      Hello – great question!

In your inner ear there are a bunch of little fluid filled canals which are useful in helping you to stay balanced. When you spin, this liquid sloshes around a lot and sends confusing messages to your brain, which is why you feel dizzy (and in my case, a little bit ill!)

Just as an add-on to Elliot’s answer, this is why if someone feels dizzy it might mean they have an ear infection or they might be dehydrated because both affect these fluid canals in the ear

I didn’t know this so thanks for asking! I’ve just read Elliot’s and Thomas’ responses so now I know more!
