• Question: what happends when you put dry ice in a swimming pool

      Dry ice is solid carbon dioxide – so when it is warmed up by the swimming pool it would just make carbon dioxide gas which would make bubbles

      So you might make the swimming pool a bit fizzy, I guess! But also probably quite cold if you used a lot of dry ice. And you might not be able to breathe very well if you are trying to swim and there is lots of carbon dioxide around.

      So I probably wouldn’t recommend it.

      If your swimming pool is heated so the water is hot you get a nice mist of carbon dioxide gas which looks like a hallowe’en type fog, if your swimming pool is cold like most of them are then the pool just kinda bubbles as if it was filled with lemonade.
